Where to Ride

Some Rides Are Made PICTURE PERFECT............

Below are some links to area riding and trail maps....The adventure awaits!

DeKalb and Sycamore have a number of bike trails that connect the parks and towns. The DeKalb County Forest Preserve has bike and hiking trail maps. Downloadable maps are available on the DeKalb County Forest Preserve website and you can reach them here. Also available are various other basic maps. Road routes are easy around here – we’re blessed with miles and miles of open road.

Ride Illinois has produced maps with suggested bike routes and paths for several cities throughout the state. The organization has also collaborated with the Illinois Department of Transportation on their maps, which are best for rural areas here.

IL Dept of Transportation has a page directed toward the recreation in Illinois and provides maps and information state wide for riders and pedestrians for trail, path and street-ways. Click here for that information.

If you’re looking for off-road mountain biking trails, you’ll need to hop in the car for a bit. The closest trail systems are at Rock Cut, Saw Wee Kee, Palos Trail System, and Veteran’s Acres. Kettle Moraine State Forest-Southern Unit (in Wisconsin) is the best riding within a couple hours.
